In this video filmed at the London Library, I talk about my decision to write about Alinor, the heroine of Tidelands. She is far removed from the very elite women I have previously written about – Alinor is an ordinary woman struggling with poverty, trying to live her life in difficult and shifting circumstances during the English Civil War.
The book will be out on 20 August, and I can’t wait to share Alinor’s story with you all.
