20th November 2018
I’m delighted to be taking part in the upcoming HistFest in December. This is a new history festival which will be on in London from 7-9 December. There is a huge variety of very exciting events on, and I’m really looking forward to it.
I will be giving a talk on 9 December, discussing my books and current research – which focuses on the lives of everyday women in history.

On the same day, I will also be chairing an event titled ‘Samurai and Secret Agents - Recovering Remarkable Women From the Archive’. In this Dr Nadine Akkerman, Clare Mulley, Dr Tomoko Kitagawa and Dr Misha Ewen will discuss women in history, and if a focus on ‘exceptional’ women is at the expense of everyday women, whose history and lives are often overlooked.
